This article didn't even say the game needs an easy mode. The guy reviewed DS3 and gave it a 94, got to the final boss and Sekiro and decided he didn't care about the challenge anymore. And found the mod more enjoyable. He didn't say the game needs to change.

How To Input Cheat Codes

Input Cheat Codes Into File Name

Enable cheats by inputting the code as the file name for New Save Datas. Correctly inputting the Cheat Code will immediately unlock the reward as soon as you start the game.

Sound Will Prompt When Cheats Are Unlocked

After inputting the data name, a sound prompt will notify players that the cheat code they have entered has been accepted and will unlock new content.

Cheat Codes Are Case Sensitive

Please take note that the cheat codes are case sensitive remember to follow the capitalization of characters or else the cheat code will not work!

Only One Cheat Code Per Save File

You will only be able to unlock one cheat code per save file. Renaming the save file with a new cheat code will not unlock any new content.

NIGHTMARE Cheat Is Permanent

The only exception to the one cheat code per save file rule is the 'NIGHTMARE' code. Once you unlock all difficulty levels, all new save files will have the ability to choose between all available difficulties of the game.
